I couldn't have imagined the change in my body has come without me lifting heavy weights at the gym

"I've been attending Jason's Bootcamp for just over 5 months now. It all started for me back in March 2011 when my wife asked me if I would like to come along to one of Jason's Bootcamp sessions to help me get in shape - she'd been selling it to me for so long and telling me how good it was and that I should give it a try. I didn't really do any exercise and knew my fitness and weight were starting to head in the wrong direction.

After going to my first Bootcamp session, I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it and the buzz that I got from it so I decided to sign up for the 7 week block attending 1 session per week to start with. As the weeks went on and I started to eat a little healthier too, I started to notice a some weight coming off and that my shape was getting defined. I now attend 3 sessions per week and love the atmosphere and the friendliness of my fellow Bootcampers.

During each session Jason provides encouragement for us all to dig deep and sprint that bit faster or put more effort into our push-ups and other exercises. Each session is different and also that bit more challenging than the last which keeps you building up your fitness levels.

In addition to the Bootcamp sessions, I also found out about the Kettlebell sessions that Jason runs and have just recently started this and already noticed a bit more toning of my now visible abs.

Jason has opened my eyes to a whole new world of training, fitness and nutrition

After years of sport and running, I considered myself reasonably fit, however, I was looking to try something different. I had heard of the benefits of using Kettlebells and when I saw that Jason was running a Kettlebell Workshop and classes, I thought I would give it a shot.

After the workshop, I was hooked! I was also disappointed to discover my fitness was not at the level I expected it to be. Using Kettlebells gave my body the all around workout I was looking for, it was nothing short of a revelation! I noticed a change in the most mundane tasks, for example, being a musician, my hand & grip strength noticeably improved to the point of surprising myself.

After a few months of Kettlebells, I also started to attend Jason's Bootcamps and to be fair, I have never looked back. The motivation from Jason as well as the nutritional advice and support has had a great impact on my general well-being.

Over the Xmas period when the Bootcamps weren't on, I went to the gym as I used to do and after an hour of exercise, I felt I had achieved nothing. I missed the buzz, challenge and camaraderie of the Bootcamp.

Jason has opened my eyes to a whole new world of training, fitness and nutrition. I am now stronger, faster and healthier than ever before.

Thank you Jason!!

It's amazing how much you improve in just a few weeks

"I started bootcamp in October 2010 and thought at that time I was reasonably fit - how wrong can you be! Anyway over the winter we battled through 12 inches of snow, ice, blizzards, everything the winter had to throw at us and came out relatively unscathed at the end. My aim when I started was to lose a few pounds but I mainly wanted to tone everything and improve my fitness.

I've lost 6 pounds, toned up, much fitter and have so much more energy - I'm now addicted and have recently signed up for 5 sessions a week! - how mad is that - but you feel soooo good after each session and the early morning sessions really set you up for the day. Jason really encourages everyone, he's a great motivator (he doesn't shout) and I've cut out almost all carbs from my diet. Saturday morning sessions also mean you reduce your wine intake on a Friday night!

I would recommend bootcamp to anyone - it doesn't matter how old, overweight or unfit you are you just go at your own pace and it's amazing how much you improve in just a few weeks."

Three and a half years ago I was four and a half stone overweight

Three and a half years ago I was four and a half stone overweight, with four and a half stones worth of hang ups to go with it. I took up running at unsociable hours so that nobody would see me breathless, flustered and sometimes close to tears. I came to the conclusion that I’d put the weight on alone, so I was going to lose it alone.

Through sticking with it and changing my diet, I did manage to lose the weight, but hit a very solid plateau in my fitness level. I began to panic a bit when running friends asked me to join them in a team event, I was convinced that I’d let them down. As a result I decided to seek some outside help and motivation, a real first for me. I embarked on a massive internet quest, exploring fitness classes, running clubs, bootcamps and personal trainers. It was Jason’s website that really caught my eye. The content communicated a real passion for fitness and for helping people achieve their goals, as well as useful tips, insightful blogs and glowing testimonials.

I contacted Jason using the box at the bottom of the page and was impressed by the prompt and thorough reply. I found myself committing to turn up to the Spring bootcamp, April 2011.

I was actually terrified; I hadn’t felt like this since being forced to participate in P.E lessons in school. I didn’t know anyone, and was convinced I would look stupid, but now that I was standing on the slightly soggy grass on the Inch, amongst many encouraging smiles and welcomes, I decided there was no turning back.

In no time at all, I was running, sprinting, doing press ups, burpees and about 20 other exercises that I’d never done in my life before, and actually enjoying it, despite being shocked at how running had only achieved a certain amount of fitness. At one point I was attempting an exercise called the bear crawl, feeling ever so slightly discouraged by my lack of ability, and there was Jason, demonstrating the bear crawl right beside me, explaining the technique and why it would help me. No shouting, just encouragement, and intuition that comes from an experienced personal trainer.

It is now July 2011. I am still signed up for three sessions a week. Every session unique, and I’m always proud to invite my friends of all fitness levels, knowing that the quality is consistently good. I have lost another half a stone, caught up with my running friends, and have received numerous comments about how much fitter I am and look. For any runners reading this, bootcamp provides excellent cross training, I have reduced my weekly mileage and yet I am still making improvements and achieving new PB’s. For any non runners, exercisephobics, please go back and read my first paragraph. From someone who had the same build as Danny DeVito, I wish I’d swallowed my pride and joined bootcamp sooner. Bootcamp is the whole package, exercise, encouragement, new friends, nutrition support and none of the expensive rip off, short term results that you can get from the diet industry.

Personal Training

“Jason is a simply superb personal trainer. I have worked with Jason constantly over the past year engaging his services on a 1:1 basis with outstanding results. Throughout my training Jason has made each and every session both fun and challenging to ensure that my own personal fitness goals are achieved. Each session has been varied and built upon the success of the prior session. I thoroughly recommend Jason to any clients who would consider engaging his services - they will thoroughly enjoy the experience."

After 6 weeks I had noticed a difference in my shape

I have been going to the gym for more years than I care to remember, I saw a notice for Jason’s Boot camp and thought, what is this all about, after asking about it and hearing nothing but good things, thought I would give it a try.

I am self motivated in everything I do normally apart from exercise and thought that this would be a two minute wonder. I signed up for two sessions a week and each time I went I had a really nervous feeling, I think it was the not knowing what we would be doing, each session is different but challenging.

Jason does not shout at you but gently motivates you, he seems to know what you can do and how far to push you, you all work at your own pace and level. I quickly decided that I wanted to do three sessions a week as I did not want to miss anything. I missed two sessions due to illness, but after 6 weeks I had noticed a difference in my shape.

It is an all over body workout each week, we work in all weathers, and even the last few sessions were in freezing weather and snow, which is normally an excuse for me to sit in the house in the warm with a nice glass of wine.

Thank you Jason so much for all the support you have given me, I feel so much better and look much better and I am determined to continue next year with all that you throw at me. I am also looking forward to the Kettle bells class in the new year.

HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!THANKS to J.....been personal training with Jason for just over a month, just had to say a MASSIVE thanks because I bought a new pair of jeans today 1 size smaller with extra room :) Looking and feeling amazing......thanks Jason

"I started bootcamp in June not knowing what to expect or how I would get on. All I knew was I wanted to lose weight & get fit! At first it was a struggle as I hadnt exercised for years. Jason encouraged, supported & motivated me which helped me to gain the confidence in my ability and I actually started to push myself harder each session & began enjoying the challenge!

I cant believe how much and how quickly my fitness level has improved! At first I didnt change my eating habits but since the start of the October session I have been eating healthy and Ive even been running outwith bootcamps which I never thought I would do. As a result I have lost over a stone in weight & have dropped 2 dress sizes :-). I feel im in the best shape I have been in years, I have more energy and I feel great. Thanks Jason, you have managed to do all this without shouting at me and have so much patience when im doing the bear crawl!!"

Rachel Rattray

Its been a year...... a fantastic year ;)

"Im not going to lie i wasn't sure about bootcamp to start with, after the 1st class (in the rain) i wasn't so sure i wanted to come back, maybe the run round the inch might of had something to do with it. I decided what the hec, what have i to lose, you never know i might lose a lb or 2.Its now been a year of consistent 3 days a week on the inch in all weathers, thats wind rain snow or and lovely warm sunshine.

When I started I didn't have lots of weight to lose. I was a large 12 (oh who am i kidding i was a 14, just wouldn't buy the clothes) now i'm a 10/12 depending on the shop. I've lost a stone but more i've toned up. I can see the change in my shape,I now have a waist and I can see the muscles in my legs from all the hill running (which is fun, trust me) and my arms get a showing off as the bingo wing has almost gone :)

Bootcamp is not a doddle by any means. You only get results if you are prepared to put in the hard work, run as fast as you can, push out that extra burpee and most of all have fun.

Jason is not there to shout at you, but he is no way a push over, if you need a push he'll tell you but trust me he don't make you cry or belittle you.

Every session is different, sometimes you even get to play games and work to a goal as a team.

Over all I would recommend Bootcamp to everyone. I've also had a blast at the SESSIONS and made some brilliant friends who will always scream encouragment and make the class much more fun.

Jason your training sessions rock, you have got the girl who hated all sorts of sport to enjoy going outside and getting muddy and having fun doing it. Thanks a million"

I joined bootcamp back in May 2010 after a friend recommended the sessions. My first session we were asked to run twice around the cricket pitch, I had to start walking about half way round the first time. I was not deterred though because throughout Jason was very encouraging, I can now complete 4 times round without stopping. There are people at various stages of fitness so there is never any feeling that you're not good enough.

Well I've kept at it, and the results are great, I think this is the fittest I have been since school days(that wasn't yesterday, believe me). My friends and family have complimented me on my weightloss and I thank them but truth be told, I haven't lost any weight, I haven't been trying to. I wanted to get fitter which I have done and in the meantime I have really toned up which is why everyone thinks I've lost weight. My clothes do fit better and I feel good.

I really enjoy bootcamp, I've met really great people. It is hard work but we still have fun and I can really feel the benefit.

Keep up the great work Jason.

The Best Exercise I Have Ever Done

Back in the summer I saw an advert for Perth boot camp. I was curious!!

Having always wanted to go to a residential boot camp but no one committing to going with me - I ventured to Jason's summer boot camp on my own. This was a great find and I am so glad I took the opportunity. The best exercise I have ever done.

Having now dropped a dress size, toned up, lost weight and now the fittest I have ever been I can only say, I wish I had found Jason sooner. The atmosphere is great and everyone friendly and no boot camp session is the same there is lots of variety. Jason continues to motivate me and fellow boot campers at each session without having to scream at us army style. I have now started Jason's Autumn/Winter camp and I am looking forward to more inch loss!!:) So anyone on the fence give it a go you will not regret it. It will be the best decision you make. Cheers Jason :)

Dropped 2 Dress Sizes

Back in April of this year I was asked by my friend to go with her to a fitness boot camp which took place on the North Inch. After some deliberation I decided to go for it – figuring I didn’t have anything to lose! And it turns out now that this is one of the best “seize the moment” opportunities that I have taken! Through 17 weeks of consistent hard work and determination I have dropped two dress sizes and improved my general fitness.

During the sessions Jason switches it up and never lets a session feel repetitive or boring. Each morning I arrive at the North Inch and look forward to finding out what he has in store for us today! Every session we are encouraged to strive and reach our full potential and tests our bodies strengths.

Getting up each morning was easier than I expected, the feel good factors of getting a great work out first thing, before I start my day are fantastic! The improvements that I experienced in my fitness came quite quick into my training, thanks to the work we put in. Jason is always ensuring we work to our best, yet respects we work at our won pace. He manages to motivate and include you without singling you out or making you feel pressured as an individual.

So if you are looking for a new challenge which helps you feel good about yourself and make huge changes to your fitness then this is it! I have already recommended this to everyone that I can! Though I do say that it involves hard work and needs dedication and determination. All I would say to someone debating this decision is go for it! You will probably learn something new about yourself, and you might even have fun doing it!!

Nearly 20 weeks on and i'm still at bootcamp and having a ball

"I started Jason's bootcamp in April and I'm sure like many other first timers was pretty terrified that I would be a weeping heap within 10 mins! However, after the first session I was hooked! I had only set foot in a gym for the first time the following November in a concerted effort to beat the bulge and after denying it for 30+ years I realised I couldn't ignore exercise any longer. I always thought I hated exercising and although I did push myself to go to the gym regularly over the winter it was a struggle to motivate myself after a hard days slog (and I wouldn't honestly say I 'enjoyed' it.) If I am honest I do not know how motivated I would have been to continue my regular gym sessions over the summer and am pretty sure they would have tailed off.

I joined bootcamp in April for a bit of variety and out of curiosity to see how I would fare, initially just for a 4 week session to kick start my 'get fit for summer plan'. Nearly 20 weeks on I'm still there and having a ball! Jason's motivation has encouraged me to keep pushing myself and I am now at a level of fitness that I never thought I could ever achieve - I have also dropped a dress size since April despite having a terrible weakness for pizza..! The bootcamp sessions are fun (contrary to what the groans and pained expressions may indicate) and varied, you never know what you are going to get challenged with from one session to the next! The atmosphere is great and the other bootcampers are also a great source of support and encouragement. Jason will push you to get the most you can out of the sessions and his encouragement when you feel you are fit to drop will help you drive that little bit harder so you are improving all the time. It has pretty much transformed me and the way I view exercise and my overall health in general. I no longer obsess about losing weight and instead my focus has shifted towards working to improve my overall strength and levels of fitness. As someone who used to be terrified at the thought if exercising, especially in a group, I would thoroughly recommend anyone in two minds about coming along to give it a go. What have you got to lose? (apart from wobbly bits.) Thanks Jason!"

Perth Fitness Bootcamp transformed me

Regular exercise is something I have never been able to do much of in over half a century and as part of an increasingly busy lifestyle. Jason's bootcamp is just what I needed to motivate me towards a lasting and real change.

I have found that Jason makes sure there is progression, variety, fun and challenges in the exercises which are changing my fitness levels, my weight and shape, my thinking and my lifestyle.

Not a bingo wing in sight

I've been going to Jason's bootcamp since January of this year and would really recommend it. The variety of exercises has really had an imapct on my fitness. I love exercising outdoors, and the atmosphere in the class is great.

Before starting the class I couldn't manage one full press up, but now I can do fifteen and my arms are really toned as a result - not a bingo wing in sight! Jason really motivates us, without making us cry.

The class is made up of all sorts of people with all sorts of fitness levels, and we have all been challenged and become much fitter. If you want to get fit and enjoy yourself, this is the bootcamp to attend!

Perth Fitness Camp - Lovin' it

OK, so if this can work for an overweight 42 year old who hates gyms, likes a pint or two and who's done no regular exercise for at least 3 years then I reckon it can work for just about anyone!

I started Jason's Perth Fitness Camp in April 2010 and to be honest, I was dreading the first morning - 45 minutes later and I realised I was even more unfit than I thought I was - I couldn't even jog all the way round the 426.25m warm up lap without walking a bit of the way BUT I had taken the first step and even though it took me a while to stand up straight the next couple of mornings, I decided to come back! Within a week I noticed an improvement to my fitness levels but it really took off for me after weeks 3 and 4.

The drills and exercises are varied and I'd even go as far as to describe them as enjoyable too (yes, even the bear crawl Grrrrr!!) Jason is always there with a word of encouragement to keep you going. Within the first 7 weeks, I'd lost a stone in weight (without overly changing my eating habits) and the belt on my trousers had to be tightened by a notch!

There are all levels of abilities at this camp and everyone gets something out of it - I would echo the other comments here and am happy to recommend the bootcamp to anyone who wants to improve their fitness levels in an enjoyable atmosphere. (I'm now into my 3rd block of sessions).

Cheers Jason!

The results are fantastic!!

"Me and my husband joined boot camp after Christmas, the usual needing to shed some turkey & too much chocolate! Never thought we would last! Jason motivates you and works you hard but the results are fantastic! We have lost nearly two stones each and still going. We have achieve much more than we thought we would and this is all down to Jason igniting our desire to exercise and eat healthily. I would recommend Jason to everyone, he's the man to change your life, you just need to take the first step yourself!"
Hilary and Ian Stuart

3 dress sizes smaller!!!

"Thats the end of my first 12 week bootcamp! Didn't really think I would get this far.. and now I still want to go on :) Thanks for all the motivation ...ok I am still last but I am three sizes smaller and two stones lighter and can climb the stairs again so I am chuffed! So anyone reading this and thinking about bootcamp.. just sign up :) Thanks Jason :)"
Lorna Sabbagh, Perth

I lost my baby weight

"I would highly recommend signing up for boot camp, the workouts are fantastic and fun too. I joined Jason last June and if it had not been from his training I would never have lost all my baby weight. Definitely worth every penny, I am now in the best shape I have ever been, so I am living proof that it really does work. I would advise anybody to give it a go"
Julie Anne Romano, Perth

Bootcamp does it again!!

Apart from the fact I can’t really walk now…and it hurts when I pedal my autocue to read the news….am dead chuffed about this morning. Truly would never have been able to run that far 4 weeks ago…and am feeling much better in myself. And although I thought getting up that early would make me really tired, in fact all that exercise has given me loads more energy at work! thank you and see you on the next one.

" I started Bootcamp with Jason in July 2009, on the North Inch, Perth. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have felt great benefit from it. Jason motivated the group I was with and his style of teaching/training made our sessions very enjoyable although we were of different levels of fitness. I liked being outdoors and part of a friendly group, all with the same goal of improving fitness but having fun too".
Cathie Drummond

Perth bootcamp beats the gym

"Jason was an enthusiastic and motivational trainer. He had a hugh variety of drills so that his bootcamps were always challenging. Training in the early morning sun was energising and started the day off well. Bootcamp is a million times better than doing the same boring routine in the gym."
Aileen & Steve Bissett

Perth fitness bootcamp gave me just the kick I needed

Just want to say a huge thank you as I've really enjoyed bootcamp (despite the weather!). Its given me the shove I needed to start exercising again. I do hope to join again in the New Year, to lose those festive pounds I will no doubt have gained!

Feel the difference at the Perth fitness bootcamp

I'm loving the classes. Not only have they improved my fitness but I can also see a change happening in my shape. The variety in tne class is also brilliant I feel I'm working all areas of my body. Also love that its outside don't feel sweaty but feel I have to work hard just to keep myself warm. The reason I signed up for bootcamp was that the gym just didn't motivate me anymore and I felt I needed something different. I like I can come at a set time have fun and work out at the same time. It sometimes feels like we are not working out but having lots of fun, but the next day you feel the difference. Brilliant!!

Norwich loss is Perth's gain

For those considering doing this, and wondering if it is for you, all I can say is, give it a try-you won't be disappointed. Last March I signed up for the Fitness Bootcamp, run by Jason at Earlham Park in Norwich. Over the next 4 months - 3 mornings per week at 6:30am ach morning,(it can become addictive!) I saw my fitness levels steadily increase, and actually surpass my initial expectations. Jason's style of teaching/training, and his interaction, motivated the entire group, no matter what their levels of fitness were. I have been a member of a gym for several years, and train regularly, but had found my training had plateaued- the Bootcamp was a welcome change to training indoors, and renewed my enthusiasm for training. Norwich's loss is Scotland's gain

Feel good at The Fitness Bootcamp

Im just about to start my third Bootcamp, and cannot recommend it enough as a motivational way of increasing your level of fitness and having fun at the same time. You are encouraged by Jason to set your own personal goals, but then will be motivated by him to push yourself just a little harder, and achieve more than you initially thought you could. Come and give one of the Bootcamps a try, you will definately tone up, lose weight, and find a greater sense of energy, and you just might find yourself enjoying playing British BullDog, at 7 am in the morning!!!

Jason has been my personal trainer for about 10 months. In this time I have achieved some amazing results. I have put 2 inches on my chest, lost 2 inches on the waist and gained 1 inch each on both biceps. This has been achieved without any supplements or changing my diet. Just think what could have been achieved with these as well. At age 42 , I have never felt and looked so fit in my life and feel a good 10 years younger. As a bad asthma sufferer up to about age 35, to run 5 km in about 28 & 1/2 minutes was a real achievement . A new personal best. I am very sorry to see Jason move to another part of the country .
Steve Tyrrell (Norwich)

I first joined my local gym in 2003 after gaining weight through stopping smoking and eating too much! i have always enjoyed working out and through some hard work managed to guide my body back to a nice size 12. Fast forward 5 years, stuck in the same routine mainly of cardio and not much else, scared to venture up to the 1st floor where all the weights are kept, my body seemed to stagnate and i was really unsure of where to from here. I felt happy with my weight but was unhappy with the results i was achieving, even though i was visiting the gym 2 to 4 times weekly. In stepped my Personal Trainer Jason Brownlie, buns of steel and an attitude to match. Together we started to build up the parts of my boy that wobbled and with his help I felt i had a new goal to achieve. Jason works with you and although always challenges you to do that little bit extra, we always work within my ability. We first started working together in January 2009 and within 6 weeks I felt my body shape change, my wobbly parts now didnt wobble so much. Whilst I was Personal Training with Jason he also improved on his skills, but no thanks to me! His qualification in the use of Kettlebells brought a new dimension to our training and was a major advantage to me, I found Kettlebell training to be of great benefit to my fitness programme. Jason's attitude to exercise both excites and encourages me to improve and I really feel I have improved. My body and me are no longer at loggerheads and when i visit the gym the gym machines and weights don't scare me any longer!! I've worked with Jason now for 6 months and I can truly say I have benefited from that extra help he has provided me with. I really enjoy our sessions together, they are always different with every visit I make to the gym, which allows me more pleasure out of my workouts. Jason has also provided me with a workout session which I do on my own, and once again because it is so varied that really adds to my workout enjoyment. Jason has been there every step of the way to help and encourage me to meet my goals in a realistic way. Unfortunately Jason is due to leave our gym for sunnier climates!!! I wish him the very best of luck and I will really miss our weekly workouts. Thank you for all your help and encouragement.

"Upped My Max Rep by 30kg!"

I have been training with Jason for a good few months now. His energy and enthusiasm keep me motivated and my routines fresh and interesting. As a result of the PT sessions, diet advice and trainning plan I have managed to up my max rep press weight by around 30kg. We have pretty much acheived the initial goals I set out as my requirements. So well done Jay!
Scott Gregory (Norwich)

"I have known Jason for about a year since I first joined the gym and he did my first fitness test. He explained what he was doing and why which really made me feel he cared about my fitness programe. He set me a programme to acheive the goals I wanted and within 12 weeks I could really see and feel the difference. My motivation has been known to waiver at times, but Jason has always been there to give advice, motivation, and well, a kick up the backside when I really needed it! You get the whole package - a great programme that's challenging and interesting and meal plans that really work and taste good! Sessions are very hard work and give you a total body workout, but that's the reward (I think!). I've gained more confidence through my training sessions, not only in my body but in myself as well, but I've also gained a friend too. Norwich's loss is Perth's gain!
Sarah Platt (Norwich)

I was very lucky to have Jason as my Personal Trainer for a year in Norwich, before he moved to Scotland. During that year my fitness has improved enormously to an extent that has surprised myself. Jason has always made training good fun, and it has always been reassuring to me to have someone of his expertise making sure I don't over-stress my body, whilst getting the maximum benefit from the training sessions. I now train 3 times a week and although retired, have never felt more energetic.
Maria Edmunds (Norwich)

Jason became my trainer at the beginning of 2008. Although I had been fairly fit in my youth, my job had become my main priority and as a result I was drastically overweight, tired and unhealthy. Over the last year Jason has helped me to make fitness an enjoyable but challenging part of my life. He has built a programme around my work, my character and my goals, ensuring I continue to push myself and achieve a number of personal goals. Most importantly the session are great fun, and he does not take himself or the training too seriously. The results are I feel healthier, look better and am enjoying life more. So I could not be more pleased. Although to this day he denies the fact I knocked him over while practicing boxing with the pads, one of my personal goals!
